Los Roques de García

Teide National Park, Tenerife, 38300

The basics

Tours of Mt. Teide often stop at Los Roques de García en route to the famous volcanic peak. Whether you hike, take a buggy ride, ride the Teide Cable Car, or join a bus tour, the uniquely shaped rocks will surely be a highlight of your trip. Look out for the unmistakable Roque Cinchado, known as ‘God’s Finger,’ which has become the emblem of Tenerife and the imposing La Catedral, a popular challenge for rock climbers.

The best way to enjoy the views is to hike the circular trail around the valley, which takes around 2 hours and loops around the many different rocks. Visiting with a guide, you’ll learn all their other names—each rock has its own moniker, such as ‘El Queso,’ ‘Roques Blancos,’ and ‘Torrotito.’
